The grape harvest 2022 at Il Paradiso di Frassina

Extreme heat initially pushed sugar concentration ahead of phenolic maturity. Rain from mid-August rehydrated the vines, and about ten days of 16°C nights and 30°C days helped phenolic and technical ripeness converge. Picking began in mid-September, 10–12 days earlier than historical timing. The crop was about 20% smaller than in a conventional year, but the fruit showed good condition and colour.
