Wine: Franco-Italian alliance for domestic and international markets
On 9 July 2020, French wine group AdVini and La Collina dei Ciliegi established AdVini Italia S.p.A., owned 51% by AdVini and 49% by La Collina dei Ciliegi.
The partnership was designed to position La Collina dei Ciliegi's Amarone, established collections and forthcoming SuperValpantena crus within AdVini's hospitality distribution network in more than 100 countries. It also planned to distribute selected AdVini estates in Italy and develop Borgo dei Ciliegi as a range beginning with Veneto production areas.
Wine tourism formed another part of the strategy: Ca' del Moro Wine Retreat was to join AdVini's network of vineyard resorts and restaurants in France and South Africa. Massimo Gianolli described the partnership as the outcome of a three-year friendship with AdVini chairman Antoine Leccia, market study and joint team building.
Antoine Leccia became chairman of AdVini Italia and Massimo Gianolli its chief executive. The board also included Christian Roger, Jean-Pierre Durand, Lionel Ehrmann, Olivier Tichit, Stefano Falla, Gianluca Cittadini and Luca Gaudiano.
At the time, La Collina dei Ciliegi was described as a 53-ha estate with 30 ha of vineyards, nine labels in two collections, production of 160,000 bottles, more than 220 international recognitions, approximately €2 million in turnover and over €15 million invested at Erbin.
