About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The fruit comes from vineyards in Panicale, near Lake Trasimeno. The La Fiorita estate lies between the lake’s southern shore and the medieval town of Panicale, on the border between Umbria and Tuscany. It covers about 100 hectares, including 32 hectares of vineyards.

The soils are clay and limestone, with volcanic elements in some sites. The moderately continental, mild climate combines warm summers with cool nights, allowing slow ripening and helping the grapes retain a balance of sugar and acidity. The soils contribute a light mineral character and added complexity.

Vinification

The grapes are harvested by hand. Each variety is vinified separately to preserve its individual character, then blended for aromatic complexity and balance. Fermentation includes 12–14 days of skin maceration, developing intense aromas and velvety tannins.

Ageing

The wine matures for 12 months in second-use French oak barriques. The oak contributes subtle vanilla, coffee and wood notes without overwhelming the fruit. After blending, the wine rests in bottle to integrate its aromas and flavours.

Tasting profile

Expressive and elegant, with bright fruit from Sangiovese and firm structure and spicy notes from Cabernet Sauvignon. The aroma is rich and layered, while the palate is complex, balanced and lightly mineral, with velvety tannins and restrained notes of vanilla, coffee and wood.

Serving and pairing

Pair with red meat or aged cheeses.

Label / history

Ferruccio Lamborghini founded the winery in the 1960s after leaving the automotive business and returning to his agricultural roots. His daughter, Patrizia Lamborghini, has managed the estate since the 1990s. Winemaker Riccardo Cotarella is also involved in its work.
