Nasce Lapilli: nuovo vino, fermento esclusivo!
Seven years of development
Lapilli was presented as the result of a seven-year project. Production comprises 1,000 bottles, each numbered, signed and finished with a different over-label. The release is reserved for direct sale at Luiano, with followers offered an opportunity to select a preferred bottle number in advance.
Alessandro Palombo described the wine through sensory images evoking maraschino cherry, strawberry preserve, an Italian garden and the satisfaction that follows a successful examination.
Vineyard and cellar
The project begins in a specially selected Pianacci vineyard cultivated with attentive, respectful practices. Bunches are chosen by hand at peak maturity and manually destemmed in the cellar. Whole berries ferment in a large amphora made from Tuscan terracotta. The wine then remains on its skins for six months before a further 12 months of bottle maturation.
Individual presentation
Every bottle carries a different short thought—a lapillo—selected and numbered by the producer around the theme of ferment and creative energy. Each bottle is wrapped by hand and placed in a custom-made cotton sleeve.
