About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes are grown in the Saracena region.
Vinification
The fruit is harvested by hand from mid-September, then destemmed and pressed. It macerates on the skins for a couple of days before fermentation begins naturally.
Ageing
The wine matures for eight months in clay amphorae, followed by a further 8–10 months in bottle. The amphora ageing contributes depth and minerality.
Tasting profile
Fruity flavours are accompanied by a spicy aroma, with depth and minerality.
Label / history
The name and label refer to amphora ageing, an old tradition passed down through generations.
