Marina Danieli Wine Club – Selezione autunnale 2021
The successful crowdfunding campaign enabled the purchase of young vines intended for grafting with genetic material from the old K2 plants. The growing season began with an unusually cold, wet May that caused uneven flowering, especially in Merlot. July and the second half of summer were exceptionally hot and dry, slowing vine development and delaying maturity. Late rain allowed ripening to resume and pushed harvest back to the beginning of September. Morning-to-evening temperature differences of almost 15°C were associated with the development of tannins and aromatic compounds. The additional ripening time allowed the cellar to finish bottling and improve its harvest preparations.
