Early spring was cold and wet. Frost in early April lightly damaged buds in several vineyards without compromising production, while persistent rain and low temperatures delayed growth. Organic fertilisation applied the previous autumn helped sensitive varieties withstand the conditions. Cool, wet weather interrupted flowering and was expected to reduce yields. The estate launched a crowdfunding campaign to safeguard K2, a steep Pinot Grigio vineyard planted in 1973, replacing dead vines with plants carrying genetic material from the old planting. The campaign was scheduled to close on 30 June 2021.
