Marina Danieli Wine Club – Selezione estiva 2022
Above-average temperatures and a hot, dry May accelerated vegetative growth and supported flowering. The vineyard team was directing shoots into the leaf wall. Dry-farming trials begun the previous year involved moving cracked, compacted soil by ploughing in order to avoid irrigation during water shortages. Green manure had enriched the soil with organic matter and supported nutrient exchange with the vines. New plants for the crowdfunded K2 Pinot Grigio project had been installed several weeks earlier. In the cellar, final bottlings, equipment maintenance and harvest planning were under way, with the press, crusher-destemmer, pumps and fermentation vessels being prepared.
