Best White Wine of Italy 2026 according to Gambero Rosso

Roero Arneis Riserva Renesio Incisa 2020 received the White Wine of the Year distinction in Gambero Rosso’s Vini d’Italia 2026. The wine emerged from more than 30 years of experimental work on the complexity and longevity of Arneis, a native variety that had come close to disappearing only a few decades earlier.

The Riserva represents a new stylistic interpretation of Arneis from the historic Renesio Incisa cru at Canale. The 2020 vintage combined maturation in steel, wood and amphora with four subsequent years of bottle rest. The award was the estate’s twentieth Tre Bicchieri recognition, earning a second star for sustained results over approximately two decades.
