Autonomous electric Bakus robot begins vineyard work

Monte Rossa placed the autonomous Bakus vineyard robot into service as part of its move toward precision viticulture. The fully electric machine uses sensors, GPS and artificial-intelligence algorithms to navigate between rows, reducing exhaust emissions and acoustic impact.

Its compatible implements can support pruning, shoot removal, weed control and vine treatments. Integrated sensors collect and analyse real-time information that the vineyard team can use to monitor plant health, anticipate disease and improve annual yield management. Emanuele Rabotti followed its first operations across the estate's 70 ha of Franciacorta vineyards.
