In the vineyard at Montecalvi

The vineyard account traced Le Terrazze to 1932, the three Montecalvi parcels to initial Sangiovese planting in 1990 and expansion in 2006, San Piero to 2003, Il Pozzo to 2019 and La Chiantigiana to 2022. To restore canopy continuity after vine losses from age, injury and disease, a 14-person crew replaced around 1,400 plants over two weeks in spring 2023, digging, planting, watering and supplying nutrients.
