The 2024 Harvest
Long sunny periods, cooler evenings, intermittent rain and an absence of hail provided generally even development in 2024. Ripening proceeded slowly, acidity remained lively and sugar and phenolic maturity developed together. Sustained rain arrived during the late-September to mid-October picking period, complicating harvesting and processing, but crop quality remained encouraging. Winter work was to focus on gentle pruning. The team also planned to double Il Pozzo with Sangiovese and Ciliegiolo and replant La Stalla with Sangiovese in early 2025. The olive crop was expected to be good; the estate's 300 trees ordinarily yield about 3 litres each.
