Monteleone21 officially opens its doors

Monteleone21 opened in Valpolicella Classica as a production, wine-tourism and experiential centre dedicated especially to Amarone, wine culture and landscape tourism. Its program included guided tours, tastings, Enoteca Masi and routes linking the contemporary centre with the historic Masi cellars, Possessioni Serego Alighieri, hillside vineyards, drying lofts and maturation cellars.

The architecture was initially conceived by Libero Cecchini with his studio and Alessandro Beghini, then reinterpreted and completed by Giovanna Mar and her Venice studio. Principal spaces included the Agorà, historic marble reliefs of the winged lion of St Mark, the 12 m-high drying hall, a multimedia auditorium, event areas, Locanda Costasera and Enoteca Masi.

Locanda Costasera adopted the “Wine First” model, pairing Venetian and internationally influenced dishes around the wines. The wine shop combined Masi's Amarones and cellar rarities with wines from the group's other estates and a selection of local labels.
