2022 Vintage and Saint Vincent 2023

Heavy rain in November and December 2021 charged the soil before the exceptionally hot, dry 2022 season. Winter was mild and nearly snowless, with limited rain and brief frosts. Dry weather allowed good soil preparation and planting at Tre Marie.

April began sunny, and a short hailstorm caused no damage. Temperatures reached about 30°C in May and 40°C in June, but flowering of vines, olives and fruit trees remained successful. During the relentless summer heat, roots continued to find water in the still-moist subsoil. The vines avoided leaf burn and the bunches matured slowly.

Harvest was small but high in quality. Berries were small, with thick skins, small pips and concentrated juice. Acidity remained notably good, an advantage for the white wines. Mild October weather carried the musts through fermentation, while heavy November and December rains replenished the dry earth. Triassico magnums and library vintages were offered in support of the foundation.
