Vintage 2021 and Saint Vincent 2022

January was mild and February covered the vineyards with beneficial snow. Nature awakened in March and the swallows returned. A sudden, violent April frost destroyed many buds and caused severe damage. Cold persisted through May, leaving the vegetation struggling to recover.

Rain in June and a return to normal temperatures allowed the vines to heal. Warm, dry July weather strengthened growth and encouraged berry development. By August the soil was very dry, but deep water reserves protected the vines from heat stress. Harvest began on Monday, 6 September, under sunny conditions with excellent grapes. The final cases of Triassico Sangiovese entered the cellar on 8 October.
