Vintage 2023 and Saint Vincent 2024
The 2023 season began with a mild, snowless winter. A cold, rainy spring disrupted the swallows’ first brood, followed by unprecedented summer heat. Deep reserves of June rainfall remained accessible to the vines. Red-grape yields were low, while the white-grape crop was more generous. Rain during flowering reduced the olive crop.
One hectare at Tre Marie was planted with Vernaccia and Trebbiano on sandy, calcareous soil. Montenidoli also acquired Il Capanno di Natalino, “l’Amato,” a one-hectare abandoned mixed-crop plot near the Fidanza vineyards, for restoration.
The account commemorated the first Montenidoli gathering of winegrowers in 1975. The annual meeting allows growers to discuss the finished season, share difficulties and prepare for the next cycle. It also reaffirmed the foundation’s plan to welcome younger and older people from many countries to its two residential groups and to host professional meetings and seminars at the agriturismo.
