The Piccini family’s return to the future: Ginevra, Benedetta and Michelangelo
Ginevra, Benedetta and Michelangelo Piccini returned to the family estates after developing experience across marketing, finance and oenology. Their work led to Generazione Vigneti, a project intended to give each family property a distinct voice grounded in terroir.
At Tenuta Moraia, the story centres on their grandfather Pierangiolo Piccini. More than two decades earlier, he walked the coastal hills overlooking Castiglion della Pescaia, recognised the vineyard potential and decided to acquire the estate. His heirs now farm 60 ha of organic vineyards within the 160 ha property. The vines grow near woodland along a corridor between inland Maremma and the sea, with Sangiovese and international varieties sharing the site. Perpiero was presented as the fifth generation’s tribute to Pierangiolo and his original intuition.
