About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The Nerello Mascalese is grown on the volcanic slopes of Mount Etna, in vineyards at 500 metres above sea level owned by the Scammacca del Murgo family.
Vinification
Made by the traditional method, with secondary fermentation in the bottle.
Ageing
The wine rests on its lees for 1–2.5 years.
Tasting profile
The 2022 vintage is elegant and expressive, with a complex, layered aroma, bright minerality and fine balance. It has a delicate texture and creamy mousse, with fine, persistent bubbles that accentuate its freshness. The finish is long, with distinctly volcanic energy.
Label / history
The wine reflects more than thirty years of development since the creation of the first Sicilian spumante made by the traditional method.
