Nittardi releases its first Gran Selezione

The Gran Selezione evolved from Nittardi Riserva. Whereas the Riserva had included a small amount of Merlot since 1997, the new wine returned to 100% Sangiovese. For the inaugural 2020 vintage, maturation comprised two years in 500 l oak vessels—80% French and 20% Austrian oak—followed by six months in concrete and one year in bottle before release.
