About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The vines are more than 14 years old and grow in mineral-rich clay soils.

Vinification

The Merlot and Sangiovese are harvested between September and October. The grapes macerate on their skins for 20 days. For 20% of the wine, juice runs freely from the grapes without mechanical pressing, using the saignée method. Fermentation takes place in stainless-steel tanks.

Ageing

The wine spends 12 months in French oak barrels, followed by a further 6–8 months in bottle.

Tasting profile

Elegant and mineral in character.

Label / history

Current owner Giuliano Giomarelli created Anterivo as a tribute to his father, Anterivo, who founded the winery. The label depicts a grape harvest and was designed by artist Giulio Galgagnego.
