Bertani’s 2021 releases and the new Tenuta Novare cru project

During presentations held on 29 and 30 September 2021, Bertani introduced a new phase in its interpretation of Valpolicella. For Tenuta Novare, the programme included the release of Amarone della Valpolicella Classico 2012 and a preview of the Bertani Cru project.

The cru project presented Valpolicella Classico Le Miniere 2020 and Valpolicella Classico Superiore Ognisanti 2019, two wines intended to read the individual complexity of their respective vineyards. The programme also revisited the historical role of the estate, acquired in the mid-twentieth century after Bertani’s long search for a site capable of producing a wine designed to age. The 1958 harvest was recalled as the first official vintage of its Amarone.

The 2012 Amarone received an additional year of bottle maturation to reach the intended balance. Its presentation reinforced the stylistic objective of combining Amarone’s concentration and longevity with freshness, dryness, elegance and drinkability.
