About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The vineyard lies on the morainic hills of Alto Mincio, south of Lake Garda. Glacial deposits have left soils rich in clay and limestone, which retain moisture while draining well. This helps the grapes stay fresh and keep their acidity while reaching good aromatic ripeness. The lake moderates temperature changes and extends the growing season, so the grapes ripen more evenly and keep a balance between ripeness and acidity.

Grapes

Corvina Veronese brings bright fruit and acidity, Rondinella adds softness and roundness, and Lagrein contributes colour and structure.

Vinification

A short maceration gently extracts colour and delicate aromatic compounds from the skins. Fermentation takes place in steel tanks.

Ageing

About 5 months in steel tanks, which preserve the pure fruit character and highlight the mineral qualities of the terroir.

Tasting profile

Elegant, refined and fresh, with an expressive character. A modern, food-friendly rosé, light yet structured and expressive, with pure fruit and a mineral quality.

Label / history

According to legend, the name Ottella dates back to the 16th century, as shown by a coat of arms preserved in the estate's courtyard. G. B. Perez's "La provincia di Verona ed I suoi vini" (1900) states that in the 16th century the winery was known as the only producer from Verona. Ottella is in Peschiera del Garda, on the southern shore of Lake Garda. It is owned by the brothers Ludovico and Francesco Montresor and their father, Michel, who combine respect for local winemaking traditions with modern technology. The estate's vineyards, planted mainly with Trebbiano, grow in clay-limestone soils along the lakeshore.
