Memoro, meaning “memory,” pays homage to our Latin roots

Mario Piccini launched Memoro in 2011 to mark the 150th anniversary of Italian unification. Its name refers to memory and the family’s Latin and Tuscan roots. Mario describes the project as the outcome of extensive travel, research and tastings, intended to create a borderless, multi-regional Italian wine rather than an expression confined to one vintage or territory.

Memoro Bianco combines Pecorino from Marche, Viognier from Sicily, Chardonnay from Trentino and Vermentino from Tuscany. Memoro Rosato unites Negroamaro from Puglia, Nero d’Avola from Sicily, Merlot from Veneto and Montepulciano from Abruzzo. The regional combinations turn Italy’s geographic diversity into the organizing idea of the range.
