About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The Pinot Nero is grown in the Trevenezie IGT area, encompassing Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Veneto and the province of Trentino. The vineyards occupy well-situated sites with stony alluvial soils rich in gravel and sand.

Vinification

The grapes are harvested in the second ten-day period of September. Vinification includes extended skin maceration and temperature-controlled fermentation, followed by malolactic fermentation.

Ageing

The wine rests on its fine lees in botti for at least six months.

Serving and pairing

Decant for 15 minutes before serving.

Label / history

“Loggia” refers to the rural porticoes characteristic of Italian buildings. Typically arched and often found on balconies, they traditionally served as gathering places where workers celebrated a plentiful crop after the harvest. The wines in the range are made under the supervision of winemaker Gianpietro Povegliano.
