Sforzato “1946” commemorates 75 years

Pietro Plozza recorded his commitment to Valtellina and his belief in Sforzato in his diary in 1946, the year the first bottle was commercialised. Seventy-five years later, a commemorative version recalled that event with platinum decoration applied to the glass by hot stamping.

Nebbiolo came from selected vineyards in the Tirano area. The grapes were dried for three months, harvested and sorted manually, cold-macerated for three days and kept on the skins for ten days. The wine then matured for ten years in chestnut casks.
