LA NAZIONE – Omaggio al conte Chigi: “Il vino della memoria”
MPS Tenimenti presented the Chigi Saracini Chianti Classico Gran Selezione in the theatre of the Accademia Chigiana. The first production consisted of 3,500 bottles intended for Italian and international markets.
President Mauro Rosati described the wine as a deliberate recovery of the Count’s agricultural history and tradition. Its redesigned label incorporates a photograph of Count Guido Chigi Saracini, reinforcing the historical, territorial, musical and artistic associations of his legacy. Additional wines were planned for subsequent months and years.
General Director Alessandro Faienza explained that the small release followed lengthy work to select particular vineyards and grapes. He anticipated a complete Chigi Saracini collection within no more than approximately 18 months and noted particularly strong interest in the identity outside Italy.
The initiative also included 2025 oils in the Olio del Conte range. Angelo Armiento of the Fondazione Accademia Musicale Chigiana welcomed the renewed institutional link. Enologist Carlo Ferrini described the Gran Selezione as a Sangiovese selection based on a specifically chosen plot and the grapes considered most suitable.
