About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
For the 2016 vintage, the grapes were organically grown in two areas of southern Maremma. The vineyards in Baccinello lie at 350 m above sea level on alluvial soils composed mainly of clay and limestone, with a high proportion of large pebbles. The Alberese plots are at sea level on sandy-clay soils.
Vinification
The grapes were hand-harvested into small crates. Alcoholic fermentation took place on the skins for around two weeks.
Ageing
The wine matured for at least 15 months in medium-sized oak barrels, followed by a further 15 months in bottle.
