La famiglia Piccini sbarca nelle Langhe

Piccini 1882 announced the acquisition of Cantina Porta Rossa in 2022. The transaction included the brand and its archive of previous vintages and was motivated by the importance of the Langhe and Porta Rossa’s established identity there.

Mario Piccini described the project as an extension of the family’s work into Piedmont, with a commitment to respecting the production philosophy that links wines to their places of origin. The group intended to perpetuate the Porta Rossa name and continue the work already undertaken.

Pierfranco Bonaventura’s contribution was central to the announcement. His work had developed Porta Rossa internationally, while his production philosophy emphasised raw-material quality, careful cellar processing and extended maturation in large casks to build structure and longevity.
