About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The very ripe Friulano grapes grow on sandy marl soils in the hills of Collio.
Vinification
The grapes are picked by hand into small crates and taken to the winery, where they are destemmed and placed in open vats. Fermentation takes place without sulfur dioxide, using only native yeasts. The must stays in contact with the skins for about 2 weeks, without temperature control, and is then gently pressed. The wine goes into oak barrels to complete malolactic fermentation.
Ageing
The wine is transferred to 600-litre oak barrels, where it spends several months on its fine lees. It is bottled without sterile filtration and continues to mature in bottle for an extended period.
Serving and pairing
Decanting for 15–30 minutes before serving is recommended.
Label / history
"Skin" is a collection of orange wines made with extended skin contact. It reflects years of refining winemaking methods and research aimed at bringing out the qualities of great vines as fully as possible, giving original and unconventional expressions.
