About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes are grown on plots with marl and sandstone soils, as well as gravel and limestone.
Vinification
Each variety is harvested by hand into crates and destemmed to keep the flavours clean. All the grapes ferment spontaneously together, without temperature control. Part of the wine remains in contact with the skins, while the rest macerates on fine lees for 70 days in clay amphorae. This extended maceration is what makes the wine orange. It is bottled without filtration.
Ageing
Part of the must spends 70 days on fine lees in clay amphorae. After bottling the wine ages in bottle for at least 1 year.
Tasting profile
The aroma is rich and concentrated.
Vintage notes
The description names the 2022 vintage but gives no account of its weather.
Label / history
The name refers to the production method: Settanta means 70 in Italian, for the 70 days on fine lees in clay amphorae. "Skin" is a collection of orange wines made with extended skin maceration. The collection reflects a long process of refining winemaking methods and research aimed at capturing as much of the character of the great vines as possible, giving original and unconventional expressions.
