About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes are grown in the communes of Butera and Riesi, in the province of Caltanissetta. The estate’s vineyards lie on hills exposed to hot southern sunshine and strong breezes from the nearby sea. They cover 320 hectares, of which 180 hectares are planted with young vines.
Vinification
The two varieties are vinified separately. Fermentation lasts two weeks at 26–30 °C.
Ageing
The wine matures for 12 months in 60-hectolitre Slavonian oak barrels, followed by several months in bottle.
