The wines of the 2022 vintage will reach excellence

At Regio Cantina, the 2022 season produced yields comparable with 2021 and other recent vintages. The vines did not suffer severely from water shortage and carried healthy, juicy grapes.

The result was partly attributed to the estate’s organic approach to fungal disease. Microbiology-based phytosanitary preparations were used to inhibit botrytis. Hail at the end of August caused damage, but its effects were limited to two vineyards.

Harvest was scheduled to begin on 14 October, approximately ten days ahead of the customary timing. As in previous years, Regio Cantina was expected to conclude the harvest across the Piccini estates in Italy.
