Rivera to host the Institute of Masters of Wine introductory course

From 26 to 29 March 2026, Rivera is to host an introductory course organized by London’s Institute of Masters of Wine in collaboration with Istituto Grandi Marchi. The program returns to Italy after the pandemic interruption; earlier editions ran from 2012 through 2019.

Aspiring students and wine professionals from around the world will take part in theoretical lessons, international tastings and direct discussion with specialists at the estate in the Alta Murgia below Castel del Monte. Masters of Wine Cristina Mercuri, Demetri Walters and Harriet Tindal are scheduled to participate, sharing professional experience, analytical methods and perspectives on contemporary wine. Cristina Mercuri is identified as the first Italian woman to earn the Master of Wine title.

The renewed collaboration is intended to support the development of internationally oriented wine professionals able to communicate the links between wine, territory, culture and identity.
