Rocca di Frassinello presents two new top wines at the 54th Vinitaly

At the 54th Vinitaly, Rocca di Frassinello introduced two additions to its top range. Rocca di Frassinello Bianco was based entirely on Vermentino from soils containing calcareous marl and a substantial marly skeleton, with the nearby Tyrrhenian breeze contributing to the site conditions. The best bunches were harvested and selected by hand, followed by ten months on the lees.

Rocca di Frassinello San Germano combined Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and a smaller portion of Sangioveto from vineyards near the San Germano necropolis. Eight monumental tombs at the archaeological site had been recovered and restored, yielding painted ceramics, bucchero vessels, goblets and wine cups. The release linked the new wine to evidence of viticulture and wine culture on these hills nearly three millennia earlier.
