Into Lugana’s oasis, the soul of Zenato

The project Nell’Oasi della Lugana, l’anima di Zenato combined a photographic narrative by Francesco Radino with a historical reconstruction by Veronese historian Bruno Avesani and an account of Trebbiano di Lugana by wine journalist Cesare Pillon.

Radino’s images interpreted the Lugana landscape through its light, seasonal colours and relationship with the wine. The accompanying texts traced people and events in the territory from Roman times and examined the transformation of Trebbiano di Lugana over approximately 50 years from a local farmers’ wine into an internationally recognised expression of the area.

An exhibition of large-format images from the volume opened at Verona’s Biblioteca Capitolare from 12 April to 16 May 2018. It was subsequently transferred to Tenuta S. Cristina.
