2021 Harvest
Abundant winter rain was followed by summer drought. Warm late-winter conditions advanced bud break to mid-March, before an early-April cold wave halted development; Sanlorenzo escaped the worst frost damage affecting other areas.
June and July were mild, while August heat highlighted the water shortage. Veraison began in early August and finished around 25 August. A severe hailstorm on 23 August destroyed much of the foliage and part of the crop. Fine weather afterward allowed damaged berries to dry without mould and healthy fruit to finish ripening. The small but high-quality crop was picked on 7–8 October.
