About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes grow in Sanguinetto, a municipality in the province of Verona. The vineyards receive sunlight throughout the day due to their exposure, while the local microclimate supports consistent annual harvests. The vines were planted in 1963, 1999, 2012 and 2017, at a density of 2,200–2,400 vines per hectare. Yields do not exceed 160 quintals per hectare.
Grapes
In Montepulciano, Grechetto is known as Pulcinculo.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand into crates in late September or early October and transported immediately to the winery. After destemming, spontaneous fermentation proceeds without added yeast for approximately 35 days in glass-lined concrete and stainless-steel tanks. The wine is bottled without clarification or filtration.
Ageing
The wine rests in glass-lined concrete and stainless-steel tanks before bottling.
