The article presents harvest as a recurring family ritual among the estate’s Sangiovese Grosso vineyards in Val d’Orcia. Picking was performed entirely by hand to keep the bunches intact and avoid the damage that mechanical harvesting might cause.

Young and older family members worked together after a late summer and early autumn whose temperatures supported ripening and produced grapes with particularly attractive colour. Once gathered, the bunches were taken to the cellar at the centre of the family property for fermentation and maturation.
