L’interpretazione creativa della Valpolicella: Scaia

A creative interpretation of Valpolicella

SCAIA grew from Famiglia Castagnedi’s intention to make wines that recount the territory’s history while actively reinterpreting it. Tradition remains the foundation, but innovation gives the project its contemporary character. The name is associated with Valpolicella’s authenticity and winegrowing vocation, presented with a creative twist.

Innovation in the range

Each vintage is approached with a fresh outlook while remaining connected to Veronese terroir. SCAIA does not treat traditional methods as fixed: newer oenological practices and advanced techniques are introduced to bring out sensory qualities. The combination of native and international varieties—illustrated by Garganega and Chardonnay—is intended to produce wines characterised by freshness, elegance and complexity.

Creativity beyond production

Respect for nature and knowledge of terroir underpin the quality concept, but creativity also shapes the bottles and labels. Their modern visual language interprets Valpolicella for a new generation of consumers. Colour, aroma and flavour are presented as elements of a sensory journey celebrating Verona from vineyard to bottle.

A project in continuing motion

SCAIA is conceived as an evolving project that responds to changing markets and consumer expectations. Famiglia Castagnedi continues to seek original but authentic ways of communicating wine and territory. Its future direction remains centred on the meeting of creative winemaking, Veronese tradition and innovation.
