Sciaranuova Festival 2026: Dieci

The tenth Sciaranuova Festival adopted the title Dieci, celebrating a decade of theatre among Planeta’s Etna vineyards. Artistic director Ottavia Casagrande presented theatre as a fragile but persistent space for reflection amid pandemics, geopolitical upheaval and rapid technological change.

The programme reunited previous festival participants while introducing a new company. On 24 July, Tindaro Granata and LAC Lugano Arte e Cultura presented Vorrei una voce, centred on women detained in Messina and the music of Mina. On 25 July, Babilonia Teatri staged Calcinculo, combining rock music, magic and social criticism. The festival closed on 1 August with the regional premiere of Alberto Fumagalli’s La difficilissima storia della vita di Ciccio Speranza, performed by Les Moustaches.

All three performances were scheduled for 21:00 at Cantina Planeta Sciaranuova in Passopisciaro, with admission from 20:00.
