Vigneto Erchi Riserva and the Terraelectae project
Terraelectae began with the 2018 vintage as the top category within Chianti Rufina. Eligible wines must meet Riserva standards, come from a named single vineyard, consist entirely of Sangiovese, yield no more than 70 quintals/ha and mature for 30 months, including 18 months in wood and at least six in bottle. Each producer may nominate one vineyard, and participating producers assess eligibility and character. Selvapiana selected approximately 5 ha of Vigneto Erchi, whose iron-rich soil distinguishes it from Bucerchiale. The inaugural release received 95 points.
