About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes come from organically farmed vineyards on the Carso hills near the Slovenian border. The dry, stony red soil is rich in limestone and iron compounds.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand, carefully transported to the winery and pressed. The juice ferments spontaneously with indigenous yeasts and remains in contact with the skins.
Ageing
The wine rests in large oak casks for 12 months.
Tasting profile
Full-bodied, complex and expressive, with a savoury edge and well-balanced acidity.
