Socré has belonged to the Piacentino family since an ancestor of the present owners acquired the farmhouse in 1869. The name recalls the previous owner’s occupation as a maker of wooden shoes or clogs. The estate has always been devoted exclusively to viticulture and wine production. Purchases in the Langhe and Monferrato strengthened and modernised the holding from the 1990s onward. The latest addition was an approximately five-hectare contiguous vineyard at Dogliani, undergoing development with Pinot Nero and Chardonnay for Alta Langa sparkling wine.
