Label / history
Warren Winiarski founded Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars in 1970. The estate became internationally known after the 1976 Judgment of Paris, a blind tasting in which a nine-member French panel compared leading Californian Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay wines with prominent Bordeaux and Burgundy labels. S.L.V. 1973 Cabernet Sauvignon took first place among the red wines.
