Grape Harvest 2020

Surani began harvesting Fiano in the first week of September 2020. A frost had significantly damaged flowering, particularly in Primitivo, and production was forecast to be approximately 10% lower than in 2019. The resulting yields were low, but quality was considered extremely high.

No vine-health problems were recorded. Although temperatures were sometimes very high, cool evening breezes and frequent light rainfall helped the vines through each stage of development. Greater bud selection and strict attention to yields formed part of the wider agronomic focus on fruit quality.
