About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The grapes come from the estate's own vineyards at the "Tascase" estate, a few kilometres from Palermo. As part of a project to expand the vineyard area, the estate grows the local varieties Grillo, Inzolia and Nero d'Avola alongside Syrah.

Grapes

The text names the variety as Inzolia, an ancient Sicilian grape with a distinctive aroma of orange blossom and almonds.

Vinification

Traditional fermentation in steel tanks at 16 °C for 15 days.

Ageing

Aged on the lees in stainless steel tanks for 4 months.

Tasting profile

Light and fresh. The nose carries orange blossom and almonds.

Label / history

The Sallier de La Tour winemaking project began in 2008. Filiberto Sallier de La Tour, Prince of Camporeale, a gentleman farmer, asked his cousin, the owner of Tasca d'Almerita, to take care of his "Tascase" estate. From the start the project focused on Syrah, considered the best way to express the estate's terroir while keeping its own character.
