Garden of Pojega: culture and wine experiences in Valpolicella
For more than 20 years, the Garden of Pojega has been open to visitors as a shared expression of the Rizzardi family’s history and the cultural identity of Valpolicella. Beside the 19th-century Villa Rizzardi, its perspective avenues, green architecture and large, well-preserved Teatro di Verzura create a route in which visitors become part of the composition.
The estate has developed The Garden That Heals from this relationship between landscape, contemplation and personal well-being. In partnership with IRCCS Sacro Cuore Don Calabria Hospital and the Municipality of Negrar di Valpolicella, the 2026 Therapeutic Garden Days addressed aphasia through talks, testimony and activities involving patients, caregivers, medical professionals, associations and visitors.
Agostino Rizzardi connected the initiative to the family’s 13 generations of stewardship and to the garden’s continuing purpose as a place of encounter. Part of the proceeds was assigned to A.IT.A. Veneto to support people with aphasia and their families. The 2026 garden season runs until November and combines guided visits, events and opportunities to experience the estate’s Valpolicella wines.
