Giornate delle Ville Venete: the Garden of Pojega and the wines of the Guerrieri Rizzardi estate in Valpolicella

For the Giornate delle Ville Venete on 19 and 20 October 2024, the Negrar estate presented its intertwined history of landscape architecture and wine. The programme recalled the Rizzardi family’s ownership since 1649, Luigi Trezza’s 1783 commission and the garden’s construction between 1783 and 1796.

The article traced the later development of Villa Rizzardi, the historic cellar buildings and the expansion of vineyards toward Calcarole and Rovereti. It also connected the 1913 marriage of Carlo Rizzardi and Giuseppina Guerrieri with the formation of Guerrieri Rizzardi and the first combined label in 1914.

The event offered two visit formats for art and wine enthusiasts. It was the final opportunity to visit before the winter closure, during which further restoration supported by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan was scheduled for completion.
