Le Tenute di Famiglia

The Tenute di Famiglia project began in 2010 and culminated in four new estate crus prepared for presentation at the 51st Vinitaly in April 2017. The work involved sustained effort in both vineyard and cellar to identify the cultivar most capable of expressing each estate’s pedoclimatic character.

All four estates were managed under a certified-organic agronomic regime. Their locations between Marsala, Trapani and Mazara del Vallo differed in climate, soil composition and landscape.

Rinazzo represented the project’s most severe environment: an arid, desert-like estate assigned to Syrah because of the variety’s adaptability. Its vineyard model was termed survival viticulture, with the variety and cultivation techniques chosen to emphasise the estate’s natural character.
