Sustainability and innovation: Tommasi packaging with lightweight glass

Tommasi Naturae brings vineyard, cellar and packaging measures into a single sustainability program focused on conserving natural resources and supporting biodiversity.

The packaging initiative introduced 420 g lightweight bottles for principal references including Ripasso, Rafaèl, Valpolicella and Arele. Organic corks carry FSC certification, labels use FSC-certified paper and cartons use recycled paper. Carbon-neutral closures with patented oxygen-transmission technology are intended to reduce risks related to oxidation, reduction and cork taint.

Reducing bottle weight lowers the quantity of raw material required and cuts energy use and transport loads. The initiative forms part of a wider effort to integrate environmental considerations throughout production.
